1. Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability
I acknowledge that participating in running and physical exercise activities, including but not limited to training runs, group runs, races, and other related events organized by GRO (collectively, “Activities”), involves inherent risks that may result in serious injury, illness, death, or property damage. These risks may be caused by my own actions, the actions of others, environmental conditions, or the conditions in which the Activities take place.
I voluntarily and knowingly assume all risks associated with my participation in the Activities, including, but not limited to, falls, contact with other participants, weather conditions, traffic, and road conditions.
In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Activities, I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives, and next of kin, hereby release, discharge, and hold harmless Grit Running Orlando (GRO), its officers, organizers, volunteers, and agents, from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action related to any injury, illness, death, or property damage arising from or related to my participation in the Activities.
2. Medical Treatment
I consent to receive medical treatment deemed necessary if I am injured or otherwise require medical attention during the Activities. I understand and agree that I am solely responsible for all costs related to such medical treatment, and I release GRO from any liability related to the provision of such treatment.
3. Media Consent
I hereby grant Grit Running Orlando (GRO) permission to use my name, photograph, video, or likeness in any media, including but not limited to social media, websites, promotional materials, and publications, without compensation. I understand that these materials may be used for promotional, marketing, or educational purposes to promote GRO activities.
4. Governing Law
This waiver and release shall be governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
5. Acknowledgment of Understanding
I have read this waiver and release in its entirety, fully understand its terms, and sign it freely and voluntarily. I understand that I am giving up substantial rights by signing it and agree to be bound by its terms.
